  • The South Indian state of Kerala was effected severely by flood starting from mid-August’18. It happened due to unusually high rainfall during the monsoon. It was the worst flood in Kerala in nearly a century. Nearly 500 people were reported to have died, few people remained untraced. The Indian Government declared it a Level 3 Calamity or calamaity of severe nature.

    Rotary India Humanity Foundation immediately started taking action. Shelter Kit is its answer to the people survived after natural calamity. 200 Kits were immediately sent to Kerala with the help of Indian Railways. Gradually every week large consignments of Shelter Kits were continued to be sent to Kerala with the help of road transport. Altogether 800 Shelter Kits were sent and distributed among the victims.   • Rotary India Humanity Foundation has been awarded the assignment of Co-operating Orgnisation for the Global Grant 1636452-Project Dignity. Its a huge project aiming to support construction of 1000 low cost single pit toilets in rural Bengal. The International Partner to the project is Rotary Club of Dubbo, Australia and Rotary International District 3271. Host partner is Rotary Club of Calcutta Mahanagar.

    The project was inaugurated in a small village Dihinarayan in Magrahat-II block in the district South 24 Parganas on 23rd June 2016 by Mr. Shekhar Mehta, Chairman, Rotary India Humanity Foundation, Mr. Rakesh Jain, Immediate Past President R. C. Mahanagar and Mr. Vinod Mahipal Immediate PastSecretary R.C. Mahanagar. ...Photos

  • Rotary India Humanity Foundation works for popularising use of renewable energy sources like solar energy. Previously it distributed more than 1000 solar lamps in the district of Burdwan. Recently on 10th March 2016 RIHF distributed 50 solar lamps to 50 families in the village Tongtala of the district South 24 Parganas. Inner Wheel Club of Mahanagar was the sponsor of the project. ...Photos

  • The district North 24 Parganas is among the worst hit districts in West Bengal by the excessive rainfall in this monsoon, coupled with cyclone Gomain. Acres of lands got completely flooded, hundreds of houses were destructed resulting in thousands of villagers homeless. They were given shelters in camps in various schools. Rotary India Humanity Foundation was approached by their partner NGO from Basirhat-II block. RIHF immediately arranged for medicines for fever, vomiting, diaherroea etc. and also arranged for water purifier. In addition to medicines dry foods like muri, chirey, powder milk and mineral water were also provided to the victims.   • Sunday 3rd May 2015
    A large no of Rotarians from RC Calcutta Mahanagar, RC Calcutta Megacity, RC Cal South City Towers, RC Cal Victoria joined hands to pack 150 Shelter Kits. It was a huge task but they did with ease. The consignment will start for Nepal via Jogbani tomorrow. Our target is to send at least 1000 Shelter Kits within the next week. ...Click here for photos
